Diabetics, kidney and heart patients who seek treatment at Coast Provincial General Hospital (CPGH) and regular clinics in Mombasa received a mega boost following the installation of new lifts at the facility.

Area governor Ali Hassan Joho said the lifts would improve access to medical services.

"The lifts will also become handy in moving patients to different wards, to laboratory, radiology and other treatment sections,'' said Joho.

The new state of the art elevators by a German company dubbed Schneider, have replaced the old lifts which have been at the facility since its establishment.

The old lifts stopped working 25 years ago after breaking down.
