Iftin ward Member of County Assembly aspirant Mohamed Gabow Kharbat has distributed food to residents living in Dekaburey, Game and Bour Algy areas of Iftin ward in Garissa County.
Addressing the residents after the distribution, Gabow said that he decided to take the action following the severe drought that had hit the area in the recent months which had greatly affected the locals in the Northern part of Kenya.
"Garissa county is among the areas seriously affected by the drought and that is why I took a step in extending a helping hand to those people that need assistance," said Gabow.
He further requested from the residents to vote for him in the August 2017 elections as the Member of County Assembly in Iftin ward so that he improves their lives more.
"I tried my best to help you now when am not an MCA. I think your hopes are that I will do my best to improve your living standard to a greater heights if you elect me. Therefore, i am telling you, vote for me and you will see changes," he said.
Some of the residents who spoke to this writer thanked the aspirant for his great support and promised to support him come August.
"He is a good person. He knows what humanity is and we will ensure he wins the elections; said Halima Kassim, Dekaburey resident.
"Since he remembered us during this tough times when drought is hitting us, definetely, we will support him till he emerge victorious for the Iftin ward seat," said Yakub Abdi Sahal, Game resident.
