A Nakuru Court has given three Union of Kenya Civil Servants (UKCS) officials more time to pay back Sh1.8million they allegedly withdrew from the union accounts dubiously.
The Monday ruling saw the three, Abdulmalik Abdul Ali, Josephat Wandwa and David Ondil Iswaro who operated from a Nakuru branch instructed by Chief magistrate Joel Ng'eno to return the said amount by August 10 this year.
The three accused suspects are said to have fraudulently forged checks and wired the said amount of money to their individual accounts.
Yesterday, the union's lawyer Steve Biko submitted that the accused had issued dud cheques and requested for a warrant of arrest against the suspects.
The three officials are accused that on diverse dates between April 4 and August 1, 2014, at Nakuru County government offices in Nakuru Town, they jointly forged the signature of UKCS secretary general Tom Odege purporting that it was genuine with aims of swindling money from the union.
They further face charges of fraudulently withdrawing the amount from the union accounts at the Cooperative Bank, Nakuru East branch.
A mention of the case will be on the August 10 to establish whether the accused have complied with the said directive of the court.
