The governor of Garissa County, Hon. Ali Korane is happy after being assured that the gubernatorial petition against him will be withdrawn from court.
The decision was agreed after a detailed consultation in a meeting between the governor, Garissa elders and religious leaders from both Aulyahan and Authaq at Lantern as a follow up to their earlier engagements.
After much deliberation among the community leadership, the elders from Aulyahan clan led by Sultan Hamud resolved to withdraw the gubernatorial petition currently in Garissa Law Court.
The move was taken as a way of bringing the desired peace, love and unity among Garissa County residents.
“On my part, I wish to take this opportunity to, first of all, convey my utmost appreciation to the selfless community leaders. I also want to assure every resident in this Great County that I will perform my duties diligently, respectfully and will continue to reach out to every citizen in order to build a cohesive society which is going to be the backbone of our development agenda,” said Hon Ali Korane on Tuesday after the meeting.
The governor promised to continue with his efforts to build bridges and bring everlasting peace and harmony different communities within the County.
