Religious leaders in Uasin Gishu have called for peace and immediate conflict resolution in the country.
They said there is the need for all Kenyans to refrain from making statements that are likely to fuel violence.
"Acts of violence and civil disobedience cannot solve the problems we are facing. Kenyans should unite and express love for fellow Kenyans regardless of our political and economic status," said Bishop Wilson Kurui in Eldoret town, Sunday.
"What is being experienced in the country where innocent lives lost and property destroyed for one to ascend to power is uncalled for and ill-intended. We strongly condemn such acts in the strongest terms possible," added the United Pentecostal Evangelistic Crusade presiding Judge Bishop Philip Limo.
They called on IEBC to consider putting to rest this matter of elections once and for all since Kenyans are tired of politicking.
"As clergies from the county, we urge IEBC to declare the winner of the presidential election and be sworn in as soon as possible to allow Kenyans continue with their normal duties. Kenya is greater than an individual," noted Bishop Kurui.
"We call upon Kenyans to maintain peace as we await the announcement of the Presidential elections results," added Bishop Limo.
