A section of religious leaders has condemned the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) over the recent accidents that have left hundreds of Kenyans dead.
Lead by African Devine Church Archbishop John Chabuga from Vihiga, they said many Kenyans are losing their lives in road carnage.
They called on drivers to be vigilant and observe traffic rules to avoid accidents that are caused by human error.
“More than 150 Kenyans have lost their lives in road accidents in the country this festive season, and the current one which occurred yesterday at Salga in Nakuru County where 36 people lost their lives. Am calling on drivers to be disciplined on the roads to avoid such accidents,” Chabuga said.
The leaders cautioned Kenyans who board overloaded vehicles noting that such acts lead to road carnage.
“Kenyans must also be disciplined and cautious when boarding Public service Vehicles. They should avoid traveling in overloaded vehicles to reduce some of the accidents on our roads,” they said.
