Religious leaders in Uasin Gishu County have condemned police brutality against NASA demonstrators.
They said police should treat them in a human way since they are not criminals."I want to condemn the way police are handling anti-IEBC protestors with the strongest terms possible, this is uncalled for and something needs to be done to end this mess," said Uasin Gishu County CIPK Chairman Abubakar Bini in Eldoret town, Tuesday."Acting Interior CS Fred Matiangi and Joseph Boinet should stop this mess once and for all before things come out of hand," added Uasin Gishu chairman of gospel ministers Bishop Wilson Kurui They, however, condemn the police for attacking journalists in Kisumu during the anti-IEBC demonstrations."It's the mandate of the police to protect journalists and not attack since they are performing their duties of informing the public," noted Bishop Kurui."Stern action must be taken against officers who assaulted journalists since it is against the law," said Bini.
