Religious leaders in Naivasha sub-county have joined other leaders to laud President Uhuru Kenyatta's fight against corruption among government officials.
Led by Bishop Joseph Wambugu from Bread of New Life Family Care Centre, those leaders said that the move to fight corruption will take the nation to another level.
At a press conference in Naivasha, Bishop Wambugu appealed to private sectors to also join in and support the President in his fight against graft by sacking their corrupt employees.
“Our brothers and sisters in private sector should also join in this big fight against corruption that has touched many in civil society,” said Bishop Wambugu.
The Bishop commended President Kenyatta for his bold step in fighting corruption saying that if it were not for corruption Kenya would be in another level economically.
On her part Pastor Mary Mwihaki from Prayers Faith Church also lauded the President's move saying that corruption is a vice that needs to be dealt with without sparing anybody.
Pastor Mwihaki said that corruption was a great hindrance to investments saying that President’s move is a step in the right direction.
“Corruption is the biggest enemy in this our beloved country and if we do not unite in this fight, then we shall not develop like other countries in the world,” noted Pastor Mwihaki.
At the same time, Bishop Wambugu called on the government to vet all the religious leaders and made public their names adding that it was the only way Kenyans and faithfuls would have faith in their various Churches.
