A section of church leaders in Kilifi County have thrown their weight behind President Uhuru Kenyatta.Addressing journalists onTuesday, the religious leaders said they are satisfied with the work the Jubilee administration has done for Kenyans.Led by Bishop Jane Zawadi of Kanisa La Mungu, the leaders who addressed the press on Tuesday said they support the re-election of President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto.“We did a lot of soul searching before we settled on the President because of his love for Kenyans irrespective of their political inclinations,” said Zawadi.She said religious leaders have a moral duty to steer fellow believers towards a particular political direction.“President Kenyatta has shown overtime that he is committed to run clean, mature and decent campaigns as opposed to the opposition that seems to have perfected the use of indecent language,” she added.Bishop Zawadi said there is nothing wrong in endorsing presidential candidates as they are chosen by God to lead a nation.She faulted the opposition NASA coalition for organizing the anti-IEBC protests, saying the move will hurt Kenyans and the economy.Bishop Emmanuel Lewa of World Christian professional Ministry on his part said they will rally their followers in supporting the president’s re-election bid.He said the church is ready to stand with the president in his efforts to build a prosperous Kenya.
