President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged residents of Nakuru County to maintain peace and focus on development of the region.
The President said Nakuru is a cosmopolitan county and the residents should embrace harmony to set a good example for the rest of Kenyans.
The President spoke when he addressed a leaders’ meeting at Nakuru State House Thursday morning, where he announced a raft of development initiatives to boost the economy.
He later addressed locals who lined up the streets of the town where he reiterated his call for peace, unity and development.
President Kenyatta called on leaders gathered at State House and all Jubilee leaders in general, whether at the national or county level, to speak with a common voice.
“Let us speak in one language. We are serving one people with one purpose and we should speak with one voice,” he said.
He said there were politicians who are trying to incite Kenyans against each other and they should be rejected.
