Kabete Sub-county Deputy Commissioner Dominic Kiarie has asked Kenyans to be more vigilant during this festive season and report any suspicious people among them.
Kiarie asked Kabete residents to co-operate with the Nyumba Kumi clusters to ensure that they remain safe before and after the festivities.
"You must know your neighbour. There are some landlords who are yet to take the details of their tenants. Please do so. Remember if one is a criminal, he will start at your place,” said Kiarie after delivering the Jamhuri Presidential Speech yesterday in Gathiga.
At the same time Kabete MP George Muchai said Kenyans ought to be proud of their independence and also remain patriotic to their nation.
“The aged here usually tell us that during the colonial era one had to have a written permit to enter Nairobi. I ask myself, what are we doing as citizens who were born in a free nation to protect and preserve our sovereignty? Let us remain true to our country and ourselves" said Muchai.
