Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has been castigated for recommending a lifestyle audit for senior government officials.
Speaking at Mwala in Machakos County on Thursday, Chama Cha Uzalendo Co-ordinator, Mwala branch Raphael Nzuki Kyalaani said Mutua depicted hypocrisy by making that statement, yet he's the most corrupt leader.
"Governor Mutua is fast to see the speck in other people's eyes without first removing the log in his eyes. His leadership is filled with corruption and he should first call for an audit of him and his officials before pointing fingers at others. It would be like the pot calling the cattle black," Kyalaani said.
Kyalaani, however, hailed the reconciliation among President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and opposition leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka saying it was timely and convenient.
"This is what we call the real handshake, Kalonzo had been advocating for this and now that it has come to pass we should move on as a county," Kyalaani added
He urged Raila to also settle his differences with Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadiand his Ford-Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula and involve them in the handshake.
On Thursday in Machakos town, Mutua recommended a lifestyle audit to be conducted on senior government officials in a bid to fight graft.
He noted that President Kenyatta may not be corrupt but people close to him are and may stain his legacy.
