Ngewa MCA Karungo Thangwa has questioned the slow pace of development in the intended project of setting up Kiambu headquarters in Kiambu town.
Thangwa said the renovation should be sped up to end the political wrangles facing the county.
Speaking to area residents on Thursday during a development tour, Thangwa said the political wars pitting the MCAs and the county governor are derailing economic development and scaring potential investors.
‘This project is long overdue. It should be complete soon so that we do not have these fighting that we are seeing every now and then between the governor and the MCAs,” said Thangwa.
Kiambu leaders and residents have been locking horns with Governor William Kabogo over the relocation of Kiambu Headquarters from Thika to Kiambu town.
He further added that the relocation would facilitate equal distribution of the county’s resources and fair running of the administration affairs, claiming that Thika and its wards are more developed than parts of Kiambu town.
The MCA also wants the amount of funds used in the renovation of the headquarters to be made public to ascertain transparency in the allocation of the county kitty.
“I urge the Majority Leader Chege Wanjiru to report to the assembly house the money used in the renovation,” added the MCA.
