Nyamira's renowned medic and businessman Dr Peter Omboga has has joined the long list of other contestants seeking to succeed West Mugirango member of Parliament James Gesami.
Addressing journalists in Nyamira town on Wednesday, Omboga explained that his concern for the people of West Mugirango is the reason why he has plunged into politics.
"One thing underpinning my decision to contest is that I am a native of West Mugirango constituency and so, naturally, I care about what happens here," Omboga said.
Omboga is a surgeon by profession and has interest in the health sector being the proprietor of the Nyamira Maternity and Nursing Home.
He is also the Kenya Association of Private Hospitals secretary general.
Omboga seeks to succeed the incumbent Gesami who declared his interest to run for the Nyamira gubernatorial seat.
