Renowned socio-political analyst Herman Manyora has weighed in on the dramatic handshake between veteran opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta at Harambee House.
According to Mr. Manyora, the handshake was not about healing the ethnic divisions in the country but a political move.
''I think it is a political move, it's not about healing divisions in the country, about electoral justice, about corruption, about inclusivity... We have had these things with us for a very long time,'' Manyora told a mainstream television station on Sunday.
Manyora's words are in sharp contrast to what Uhuru and Raila have said regarding their handshake.
The two told the public that their handshake was aimed at fostering national reconciliation, a claim that Manyora has rubbished.
It would be interesting to see how things unfold in the coming days, politically.
