A youth leader has asked Nakuru county government to repair the road leading to Gilgil hospital.

Kennedy Mbaria said the earth road is a nightmare to patients being taken to the hospital for treatment.

He called on Governor Lee Kinyanjui  to honor his pledge he made during campaigns of paving the road.

"The governor promised  to repair the road in his first 100 days in office during his campaigns. Until today nothing has been done and no signs that the road will be repaired. Kinyanjui should fulfill his promise for the sake of the people seeking medical services at the facility," Mbaria said on Sunday.

Mbaria noted that the road is impassable especially during rainy seasons when motorists ferry  patients to the hospital.

"The road is impassable during times of rain and motorists refuse to use the road fearing stuck in mud," he said.
