[Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim. He has said it would be pointless conducting elections in the current IEBC situation.] (The Star).
Former Lagdera MP Farah Maalim has cast aspersions at the IEBC over their insistence that the October 26 repeat polls will go on as planned, maintaining that massive reforms must first be done to the poll agency.
Speaking on NTV's AM Live on Monday, the former National Assembly deputy speaker observed that the country risked going through another post election circus should the Iebc proceed with the repeat elections.
"You want elections to releated after 60 days when the systems that were corrupted have not been rectified. That to me would be akin to admitting that we can have another round of a political and legal crisis we are currently witnessing again," he said.
The Wiper party deputy leader also took a swipe at a section of the Jubilee MPs whom he accused of blindly rejecting calls for dialogue with their Nasa counterparts saying the country belongs to everyone.
"This is about dialogue and not 'nusu mkate' as they have painted it.This country us not exclusively owned by an individual,it belongs to all of us," he added.
