Political leaders across the country have been asked to use this Christmas season to repent and renew their hearts before calling for dialogue and reconciliation.
Kisumu Catholic Diocese Archbishop Zacchaeus Okoth says politicians who may have spread lies and hatred that caused bloodshed during the election period need to 'repent and renew their hearts and souls.'
Speaking during Christmas mass at St Theresa Catholic Church, Kibuye parish, Archbishop Okoth said all those responsible for sufferings and deaths of innocent Kenyans during election period should confess and reconcile with the affected families before they call for dialogue.
"We must be challenged to reconcile with God and fellow mankind, it’s not an easy step but it’s a step of faith," Archbishop said.
He further urged political leaders to preach peace, unity and love amongst their supporters during this festive season.
"Politicians must cease from preaching hate and animosity that will further divide Kenyans along political line," said the Kisumu Catholic Diocese Archbishop.
