County health executive Daniel Mungai says residents have the right to be served in public hospitals at any given time.

He said that the government will not tolerate lazy workers or workers who harass and mistreat patients seeking services in public hospitals.

Speaking at his office on Friday, Mungai told residents that they should report any ugly incidents they witness in public hospitals for action to be taken.

He said, “For a long time, public hospitals have been known for poor customer service. That has to change because health workers are paid by taxpayers and they have an obligation of serving them.”

Mungai added, “We want the public to help us change how things are done in our hospitals. They can do that by reporting any ugly incidences they encounter in public hospitals.”

He said that as much as the county government is trying hard to better the working conditions of health workers, they should reciprocate by serving patients with an open heart.
