Through a letter written by Joseph Kinyua, Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service, the election process has been peaceful, and there was no reason why the officers should not be back in office.

He further asked all Principal Secretaries to submit a list with names of civil servants who will have reported to work on Friday, August 11 in various ministries and departments.

This comes amid uncertainities surrounding the just concluded elections, with the NASA coalition rejecting the provisional results.

Their stand has led to a few cases of violence reported in some areas of Nairobi, particularly in Mathare where four people were reported dead.

Civil servants had been given a day off on August 8, which was announced as a public holiday to enable Kenyans to vote.
