Among other recommendations that will be shelved include evicting hawkers and boda boda operators from Thika Town Centre.

Gicheru said the county government is committed to ensuring that small scale and large scale businessmen are all treated equally.

"We do not want to appear like we are discriminating against a certain group and that is why all these recommendations will not be implemented for now. We know that this is a source of livelihood for many of the people," said Gicheru while addressing journalists in his office.

Gicheru noted that the county government is giving the Biashara Fund to empower youths and women and sending them away from town centre will be playing double standards.

"We want everyone to be able to place food on their table. Crime has gone down because many people have got something for themselves," he said.
