New data shows that one in every two people one is not employed.
Millions of Kenyans are struggling without jobs.
Perhaps more jarring is the fact that 86 percent of the jobless population is between the ages of 18 and 34 years meaning that the biggest chunk of those without jobs is the young people.
Research by pollster Trends and insights for Africa and Brighter Monday demonstrate the suffering endured by the jobless youths.
The survey made public on Monday found that 53 percent of those polled said they had no job while 41 percent said they had a job.
6 percent said they were self-employed.
''About half of those who are unemployed have been jobless for at least one year.'' Maggie Ireri, TIFA CEO, said according to an article by the standard newspaper.
