Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero [PHOTO/nation.co.ke]Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has dismissed the KPMG report which revealed that there are 92,272 dead voters in the IEBC register.
Speaking at Regina Caeli Catholic Church in Karen on Sunday, the governor said the data was inaccurate.
He said that on average, over 200 people die in Nairobi every day, making it 72,000 a year and therefore 360,000 since the last IEBC voter registration that was done before the 2013 polls.
Kidero said that in Nairobi alone, more than 300,000 have died in five years and that he was surprised by the recently released numbers.
“In five years we should have probably lost 360,000 people in Nairobi alone of which 75 per cent are adult. I was surprised in the cleaning of register nationally they can only capture about 92,000,” said Dr Kidero.
He argued that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is the organ trusted to give the most accurate figure.
He also challenged the audit to reveal names of those whom it said have died.
