Kisumu MCAs have welcomed the Oduor Ong'wen task force report that was handed over to ODM party leader Raila Odinga in regard to the wrangling in the assembly.
The report reveals corruption and misuse of public resources by the Kisumu county assembly.
The report says the speaker and MCAs are openly flouting procurement laws and awarding themselves or their cronies' tenders.
The members are Ann Adul (chairperson), Ong'ou (vice chairperson), minority leader Edwin Anayo (member), Margaret Jobita (member) and the interim clerk to the assembly (secretary).
"It's wrong to implicate the whole board because not all the members are corrupt," Ong'ou said.
Nyalenda A ward representative Jacktone Onunga also welcomed the report and said it was timely.
He said the assembly needs to be accountable because MCAs' core mandate is oversight, making laws and representing residents.
Onunga said the report should be a warning to everyone to do the work they were elected to do.
