A report by the Tobacco Control Board has put women on the spot for consuming shisha.
Nairobi topped the list of urban centers with women who smoke shisha.
According to the report, these women were able to access it in clubs.
Ms. Isabella Karanja who is a board member revealed the shisha smoked by these women is usually laced with drugs such heroine, cocaine and bhang.
“Inside the (shisha) pot there is a mixture of so many drugs among them heroin, cocaine, and bhang and therefore one becomes an addict of numerous drugs,” said Ms. Karanja, according to a report by the Daily Nation.
The board member bemoaned the destructive impact of shisha smoking on the economy and development of the country.
They also warned joints providing this drug that they will soon be met with the full force of the law.
The Uhuru government has made fighting drug use among the youth a key plank of its development agenda.
