Chief Samuel Ngaruiya of Kerwa Village in Kikuyu has asked villagers to immediately report strangers spotted in the village.
Speaking at a public baraza on Tuesday, the Chief further asked all visitors visiting the village to clear with his office.
The Chief said that with the rising security threats in some parts of the country, it would be appropriate for villagers to be vigilant.
He said that security is the first priority and that every villager must work with his office to tame crime.
“We want to protect our village from danger or threat hence need for every ones support,” he said.
Ngaruiya said that they have been given strict directives to deal with criminal elements and secure villages. He asked residents to support local leaders and elders as they strive to maintain law and order.
At the same time, Mr Ngaruiya cautioned young people against taking part in crime. He instead appealed to the youths to participate in activities that will improve their living standards.
Mr Ngaruiya urged parents to monitor the activities of their children especially those who are on holiday and immediately report change in their behaviour.
