Speaking to journalists in Kikuyu town on Thursday, Ichungw'a said that nothing should be left to chance when it comes to security matters.

He said that security of residents and Kenyans at large is important and must be guaranteed.

“I appeal to Kikuyu residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to the police,” he said.

The MP further urged law enforcers in the constituency to conduct more surveillance and guarantee safety of residents.

He also urged leaders in the country to support the government towards ensuring safety.

Ichungw'a said that socio-economic development will be under threat if security scares in some parts of the country are not addressed.

The MP at the same time condoled with the families, relatives and people of Garissa following the Thursday dawn terror attack at the Garissa University College.

He urged security agencies to put in place adequate measures that will ensure safety of residents.
