Kiambu OCPD, Peter Nge’tich has encouraged residents to report suspicious acts and people to law enforcers.

Addressing the media in his office on Thursday, Ngetich said that residents have a role to play when it comes to security matters.

He said that though cases of crime have drastically gone down in the last two months, there is need for locals to remain vigilant.

“The public should remain vigilant and furnish us with information on suspicious individuals and acts,” said Ngetich.

The police boss said that they are well prepared and equipped to deal with crime in the area.

He added that police officers will continue with 24 hour security surveillance in order to wipe out crime.

He further said that they will not hesitate to arrest and take action against lawbreakers saying that no one is above the law.

The police boss on the same note called on area local leaders to support police initiatives and work closely with them to curb crime.

He said that the introduction of Nyumba Kumi should be supported by leaders saying it has the potential of completely weed out crime.

“Politicians and local leaders should help us covey security measures to the public,” urged Ngetich.

Nge’tich promised residents that the police will continue working hard to secure the area.
