Speaking during the opening of the 2015 county assembly proceedings in Machakos County Mung’ata said that previously the house has been faced with a lot of challenges.

“Various departments have not been giving progress reports, hence barring the county assembly to fulfil its duties. I therefore urge our governor to order the authority and ensure that each of the departments give us their reports as stated in Kenya Constitution,” said Mung’ata.

Chapter 183 (3) of the Kenya constitution states; The county executive committee shall provide the county assembly with full and regular reports on matters relating to the county.

Mung’ata further urged county assembly members to carry out their duties responsibly and involve public in the development projects.

Kenyan Constitution 2010 demands the county government to involve public in budget preparation and while carrying out various development projects in their specific counties.
