Kisii fraternity of people living with disabilities have accused powerful individuals for grabbing their land.
The County President for the challenged persons, Kennedy Nyambega, has asked the government to take appropriate action to grabbers and reposes their lands at Nyanchwa, Daraja Mbili and Nyamataro in the outskirts of Kisii town.
However, Nyambega disclosed they have completed searches for some of the alleged grabbed lands and will present them to the Ministry for Lands in Kisii County.
"We have searches for the Nyanchwa, Daraja Mbili and Nyamataro grabbed lands and we are slated to present them to Kisii lands Minister for determination. People of high profile are the ones who grabbed our parcels and we ask the government to reposes them for us," he pleaded.
He has lauded the county government through Governor James Ongwae, for giving them an opportunity to be heard.
"I thank Governor Ongwae for considering us in employment and supporting the disabled persons financially,” said nyambega.
Governor Ongwae in his address last week during the public dialogue in Kisii town, promised to finance more than 5000 disabled persons in the county to empower themselves economically.
