Political Parties Disputes Tribunal on Monday handed a lifeline to Gem Member of Parliament, Jakoyo Midiwo

This is after the tribunal cancelled ODM nominations in the constituency and directed the party to pick a candidate for the August 8 polls, within 24 hours.

The cancellation followed a petition by the Deputy Minority Leader in the National Assembly.

The Orange party had declared Elisha Odhiambo as the winner in the Gem primaries with 13,565 votes against Midiwo’s 8,565.

Meanwhile, a former aide to the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, Caroli Omondi, lost his bid to vie for the Suba South Parliamentary seat as an independent candidate.
