Director of Public Prosecutions has applied for the withdrawal of a case against Nakuru Town East lawmaker David Gikaria and four other people.

Gikaria, Elijah Kinyanjui, former Flamingo MCA Moses Gichangi and Naka primary school head teacher Francis Mwangi were accused of damaging property worth Sh13 million belonging to ENSE company.

The MP was first arraigned on court on June 6, 2016 where he was charged of leading protestors to damage a perimeter wall on a 10 acre piece of land and theft of 300 wheelbarrows belonging to ENSE limited.

Gikaria appeared before chief magistrate David Kemei and denied the charges.

He was realised on a bond of Sh500,000.

On Wednesday magistrate Kemei said all parties will on March 9 discuss the matter and argue their grounds on why the case should proceed or not proceed.
