They said that raw sewage from some residential houses found its way into springs.
According to them, over 20,000 families were at the risk of contracting water-borne diseases.
"It is now three months since we started raising concern over the matter but no one of is listening," said James Matutu, a resident.
He further called upon the environmental watch dog NEMA to intervene and ensure that the problem is urgently addressed.
For the last three months, Kisii county has seen a rise in cases related to cholera and medical experts warn that it might increase if residents are not careful.
