A section of Kabete residents have accused their MP Ferdinand Waititu of neglecting them.
The residents said that the MP is focusing too much on the 2017 gubernatorial elections at the expense of addressing their problems.
The residents on Tuesday held demonstrations in Kabete Town complaining over poor state of roads.
“Waititu should address our problems first before seeking the Kiambu governor seat,” said Simon Njeru, a trader at Kabete town.
Njeru said that Waititu had abandoned them and that he has not fulfilled the promises he made to them.
The locals said that roads in the area are in bad shape and need urgent renovations. They cited the Wangige-Ruku-Ngechu Road which they said is in deplorable condition.
“Waititu should concentrate on addressing the problems in his constituency and stop early 2017 campaigns,” said Sheila Wachira.
Waititu has shown interest in the Kiambu gubernatorial seat and has been in recent past engaged in bitter exchanges of words with the current governor William Kabogo.
