Idd Salim Sifuna was arrested in Navakholo, Kakamega County by residents who later handed him over to the police.

Confirming the arrest, Navakholo OCS Robinson Lang'at said the escapee was nabbed alongside his accomplice identified as Samwel Wafula.

"Following a tip-off from bodaboda operators and members of the public today the OCS Navakholo and his security team managed to arrest two most wanted criminals in connection to the robberies in Navakholo Sub County," said Lang'at.

Idd Salim escaped from Kibos Prison where he was serving a life sentence and Wafula was his accomplice in robberies within Ingotse and Namakoye areas.

Last month, together with three other capital offenders, Salim managed to escape the highly guarded prison by jumping the perimeter wall.
