Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi was rescued by police from irate residents after he attempted to disrupt a meeting presided over by the Education executive in Kitui County on Sunday.
The county's education executive, David Kivoto, was forced to cut short his speech after Mulyungi stormed the meeting at Musukini village accompanied by over 20 armed goons.
Kivoto led his supporters out of the meeting to avoid confrontation and escape from being attacked by the MP's goons.
However, an irate group of women, his supporters, attacked Mulyungi and his goons.
They pelted the MP prompting him to take cover in a nearby shop as a hailstorm of stones 'rained' on his car.
Mulyungi called the police who rescued him after they shot on air and hurled teargas canister to disperse the charged residents.
