Three women were seriously beaten by members of the public for allegedly attempting to kidnap a child in Kisumu.
The incident happened at Kisian area of Kisumu County where the three suspected kidnappers were physically beaten by an irate mob after an attempt to get away with someone's child went futile.
The young school girl explained how one of the middle aged women approached her holding a syringe purposely to induce a drug and accost her, before she screamed for public rescue.
An angry group of residents among them bodaboda operators then descended on the three suspects with kicks and blows leaving them with severe injuries.
Deborah Achieng, a witness to the incident, explained that cases of children kidnapping had increased in the area and pointed a finger on the cornered women for having a hand behind the children who have gone missing in the recent past.
Police swiftly arrived at the scene and whisked away the trio pending investigations an trial.
