Speaking to HiviSasa.com, the residents said that they have not had power for over two weeks and this has put them in danger of being attacked by goons in the area.

They further claimed that the power outage has affected businesses with shop owners being left vulnerable to attacks forcing them to close shop as early as 7:30pm.

Alice Owino, a resident in the area said she was robbed off her phone and other valuables including money by unknown people two days ago because of the power outage.

Others who have been heavily affected are those who leave home early in the morning and return late in the evening as they risk their life by walking in darkn.

"Kenya Power should restore power in the area to avoid cases of robbery and make the area safe for the locals," said Alice.

She urged the Central Rift Region office in Nakuru to do everything possible to restore power, restore security and save businesses from further losses.
