Residents have called upon the county Government and the ministry of health to close the Kisii main slaughterhouse until the investigation is over following the death a cow which was found in the area on Sunday night.
A group of Activist from Kisii county led by Vincent have condemned the incident by challenging the County Government of Kisii and the ministry of Health to close it until an investigation is done.
“We were shocked to hear that a dead Cow was brought in our main slaughterhouse and we have seen it being disposed off in a pit, this is not the first time this is happening we need an immediate reaction from the county Government," said Vincent.
Youth leader Markaton Obae also called upon health officers within the county to come on board to investigate the matter for health purposes.
“We are calling upon the health officers across the County more so those in charge of this slaughterhouse to come on board so that they can address this issue once and for all,” said Obae.
Kisii Governor Joash Maangi appealed to residents to keep calm as investigation is launched so that the culprits can be brought to book.
Maangi visited the slaughterhouse when he embarked in inspecting the county funded project, slaughterhouse being one of the projects.
