Residents of Kisumu have appealed to the national government particularly the ministry of Transport to look at the workmanship at Nyamasaria flyover that has occasioned road accidents.
The residents are particular that if the situation is not looked at an rectified then several lives will be lost.
The Nyamasaria flyover along the busy Kisumu-Nairobi road was designed to decongest town centre.
On Monday, a trailer transporting animal feeds to Kisumu lost control while negotiating a bend over the flyover and rolled down.
The driver, his turnboy, and another woman occupant sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
James Odhiambo, a resident of the town said the ministry of transport must come and relook at the engineering works.
“This is the second accident along the same spot and we don’t want to lose lives here without speaking out,” he said.
A motorbike cyclist Edward Ochieng said it is now scaring while crossing the flyover due to the accidents.
“You never know when the next vehicle will fall from the flyover,” he said.
Last year, a diver and his turn boy transport came to Kibos Sugar Factory died after their vehicle fell from the flyover.
