A number of projects in Nyaribari Chache constituency in Kisii County have received a boost after the area Legislator Richard Tong’i released Sh10 Million from the CDF Kitty.
Speaking while inspecting the ongoing constructions of the modern school library and classrooms at Boronyi secondary school in Kiogoro ward last evening, the Mp stated that he is determined to finish all the projects he had started by the year 2017.
He called upon his constituents to be vigilant against mismanagement of funds, saying that it will be the only sure way to ensure completion of projects.
Tong’i warned those found to engage in such practices that they will be held accountable and said that he is sure his team is vigilant.
“I call upon you to be my ambassadors as I give out these funds. I want you to be extremely watchful against those who will turn this noble project into a corrupt endeavor,’’ he said.
He challenged members of the CDF committee to closely monitor projects sponsored by the Kitty.
The legislator promised to reward those who will utilise the funds in a proper manner and on targeted projects for the benefit of the residents.
He said by 2017, all locations in the constituency will be covered with CDF projects.
“Those locations which have not benefited from this kitty so far will be considered in 2016-2017 allocations. We shall spread our development activities equally across all corners of the constituency,” added Tong'i.
The Legislator stated that he will look into the allegations that some students from other constituencies have received bursaries meant for the needy students in his area.
