Maasalani residents have cautioned their local government leaders from giving rogue contractors projects that do not comply with the law.

The residents were speaking during a meeting called upon by area MCA on flood management measures due to heavy ongoing rains on Saturday afternoon.

"We urge all the contractors to kindly comply with the law especially now that the rains are in plenty. Several innocent Kenyans have lost their lives in the past and of late due to carelessness and laxity of some contractors. We urge the government to kindly take charge," Issa Rashid a resident said.

The area MCA also promised to work hand in hand with the county government to see that all feeder roads in the área are murramed and tarmacked.

"I will pursue the governor day and night to see that our roads get tarmacked and those that need murram are put in the right order," he said.

Earlier in he  had promised to help the governor root out corrupt persons in his ward which has affected the economy in s large way 

The residents were also advised to be cautious especially now that the rains are big in the country.
