John Mwaura a resident of Kikuyu town and a church leader has said that prayers that the country had always made to have president Uhuru Kenyatta acquitted from the International Criminal Court (ICC) were answered, adding that the relief was a great achievement to note in the year 2014.

“What else could we have asked the Almighty God, if not a prayer to have our President let free by ICC? We are happy that he is a free man now ready to work for Kenyans,” said Mwaura.

However, the year didn't lack its fair share of drawbacks as it was felt by quite a number of citizens.

"Insecurity is one of the main problems we experienced here in Kikuyu because crime rate was very high in the just ended year,” said Daniel Gichuki who is also a resident of Kikuyu town.

Many of the residents expressed high hopes of having a much better, safe and successful 2015 for all Kenyans.
