Residents in the Kibera slums have complained hard economic times as ERC increases fuel prices rapidly especially kerosene the use mostly in their stoves.
The residents now say the Jubilee government is failing them since the living standards have gone high.
Prices of commodities are at the peak. The government has failed Kenyans who will find it hard to afford to buy Kerosene," said Priscah Makuba.
Residents have expressed frustrations saying that leaders should look into the matter or else they be voted out in 2017.
"We elected people to represent us. They seem to be busy stealing public funds and this could be the reason for the rapid increase in prices of commodities. People living in the slums can't afford to buy items at high prices," said Jeremiah Mido.
Nairobi residents will be forced once again to dig deeper into their pockets to buy kerosene, petrol and diesel at high prices after ERC announced July 15- August 14, 2016 new fuel prices.
Petrol, diesel and kerosene will retail at Sh92.93, 83.24 and 61.45 respectively in Nairobi. This was an increase from the previous price where the commodities retailed at Sh86.17, 73.71 and 58.04 respectively.
The new prices took effect from Thursday midnight.
