A section of Kiambu residents have expressed their concern over the political leaders’ engagement in early campaigns at the expense of development.
Speaking on Sunday at Kiambu Town, the residents say that the country is barely out of the 2013 elections and wondered why the leaders are driven by their selfish gains.
“Our leaders want us to continue singing politics. Politics should wait until 2017 and the leaders should focus on development issues and stop dragging us into politics,” said Timothy Wainaina, a youth leader at Kiambu Sub County.
For Jane Wambui, a Kiambu business lady, the politicking shows that the leaders are engrossed in leadership greed.
“When we get in politics at this stage, when will development issues be sorted out? We want our leaders to deliver on the expectations of the electorate who elected them said Wambui.
Their concerns come after The National Alliance (TNA) party and the United Republic Party (URP) and other Jubilee affiliates formed the Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP).
The residents argued that the interests of political leaders was to ensure a continued solid political interests are achieved at the expenses of development issues.
