Some of Nyamira County citizens have condemned Friday's incident at the funeral of the late Godfrey Masanya, whereby governor John Nyagarama was booed by the crowd.
Henry Mose, a resident in Nyamira town said catcalling at the governor was inappropriate and disrespectful to the late Masanya's send off.
He also said the ground was not to be politicised despite the fast approaching election period and booing of Nyagarama could wait.
"I was surprised of the unfolding of events on Friday. The funeral ground of late Honourable Masanya was not to be political, it was also inappropriate to hiss at our governor who was grieving loss of his friend," said Mose.
Nickson Ongwae also disregarded the booing and said it was planned and propelled by Nyagarama's political rivals.
"I dont see any reason why the governor's rivals could neutralise the ground to convey their political bids," said Ongwae, a Nyamira resident.
Hellen Sabwengi, also a resident in Nyamira said despite her different political affliations with the governor, razzing at the governor was far insulting and too ridiculous.
"The incident was offensive and reproachful to a large extent. We differ politically with him but he never deserved that," said Sabwengi.
