They said the government had sidelined the area in terms of development as service delivery because it lies in boundaries of Nairobi and Machakos Counties.

“We face lots of problems as Kamulu residents because the Machakos Government has refused to incorporate the area in its development agenda,” said Faith Onyango.

Speaking at a public Barraza in Kamulu AP camp on Tuesday, Onyango said leadership of the government had forgotten that the area falls within the county in Mavoko sub-county.

Onyango said as residents, they were disappointed by the government for failing to address their problems even though they pay taxes and remit various levies to the same government just like other residents from the county.

Resident Steve Biko who spoke separately at the same function said the area had poor infrastructure ranging from roads, health facilities, water, garbage, and insecurity.

They urged the government to consider Kamulu in their development plans and be allocated development funds in the county’s budget like other places within the county.
