Residents of Nakuru have decried the increased insecurity in the Nakuru north cemetery. The residents said the cemetery has turned into a forest without wardens making it hard for them to visit their loved ones resting in the area.
The residents are worried that the cemetery is likely to become a no-go zone as they fear being mugged.
They said it has been years since the perimeter wall and the main gate were brought down by unknown people and despite being at the periphery of the town that is home to Nakuru county headquarters, it has not been repaired.
The families who bought grave sites at the cemetery called on the county government to put in place measures to curb the situation.
