Ngungani residents in Komarock, Matungulu sub-county have expressed concern over drastic increase in road accidents in the area.
According to some, most accidents are hit and run caused by personal cars.
They said that most vehicles causing accidents are automatic and very advanced with high-speed levels which are tempting to drivers.
"Most of the drivers who have caused many deaths at Ngungani are not familiar with the road though some might pretend not familiar with it. Others are ignorant or inexperienced," stated one of the residents.
They said that after the place was declared a black spot they have presented the petition to the county government of Machakos to ensure that speed bumps are put in place as lack of them might also be a contributing factor to the increased massacre.
Over the recent past, the place has claimed five innocent lives and several injured.
They pleaded with the county government to put speed bumps and road signs in order to avert accidents.
This comes barely one day after a bodaboda operator was ran over by overspeeding personal car.
