This comes after a body of a middle-aged man was found dumped at Nyakoe junction on Tuesday morning.
The deceased identified as Sokoro was spotted in one of the bars within Nyakoe market on Monday evening but he never returned back home.
Residents said they suspect Sokoro was killed by hired goons because few months ago he had a disagreement with a police officer who he attacked and injured before he stole his mobile phone and cash.
Area chief Philip Matieka who confirmed the incident and said the man’s body had deep cuts in the head, abdomen, and stomach.
“Sokoro was not always in good terms with other people in the area. He could fight everyone who he disagrees with and this could have led to his death,” said Matieka.
His family members have recorded a statement with police who have launched investigations to arrest the killers.
His body was taken to Kisii Teaching and referral hospital mortuary.
